NBA Referee Development Program
The RDP is not only a world-class experience but also a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that equips RDP Trainees with the skills necessary to pursue a career as a referee in the NBA, WNBA, or G League. The immersion-based experience places recent college graduates, former professional players, military personnel, and aspiring referees at the forefront of the game, allowing them to work assignments in Referee Operations while officiating games on the high school, pro-am, & college levels.
Professional Development
The RDP includes a robust curriculum of professional development activities. The program offers an in-depth orientation that builds the foundational skills required for success in the workplace and as an elite referee. Trainees receive training to grow high-value professional skills such as relationship building and conflict resolution. Trainees complete self-assessments and receive strategic coaching that identifies strengths and areas of development.
